Since its foundation over 200 years ago, the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin has been a place of exchange between science and society. Our commitment to the Deutschlandstipendium is linked to our efforts to establish a new scholarship culture in Germany. We bring the scholarship holders into conversation with the sponsors and thus create a further platform for exchange with society. The expansion of the network and the non-material support within the scholarship programme are of particular importance to us.

This is a win-win situation for everyone involved: students gain an early insight into professional practice and can expand their network both inside and outside the university. Sponsors are given a variety of opportunities to establish contact with their scholarship holders and to present themselves within the university.

Get involved in our network:

As a scholarship holder

As a scholarship holder, you will get to know other scholars at our events and can share your experiences during your studies. At the same time, you will establish contact with your sponsor as well as other sponsors from whom you can benefit during your studies and when starting your career.

As a sponsor

As a sponsor, you can also provide non-material support for students in our network. Not only will you get to know your scholarship holders; you can also meet other students and alumni at our events and make numerous new contacts. You have many opportunities to present your institution or your company – for example, at the scholarship award ceremony or as a speaker at our get-togethers.

As an alumnus or alumna

As an alumnus or alumna, you can maintain contact with your alma mater at our events and continue to follow the academic discourse at the Humboldt-Universität. You can share your experiences from your own studies with students and offer them advice and support. At the same time, you will get the opportunity to communicate with our sponsors and other alumni and expand your own professional network.

Networking platform

As a scholarship holder, you have the opportunity to network with other students. Depending on what you prefer, we have a WhatsApp group or you can register in the Deutschlandstipendium group via the HU Alumni Network .

Our newsletter

At the beginning of the semester and in the case of special matters, we inform our scholarship holders, sponsors and alumni about upcoming dates, planned events and our other activities. Please write to us if you would like to receive information from us.

Our event platforms

    • schol­ar­ship award cereno­my

      Every year, after the scholarships have been awarded, we organise a scholarship award ceremony, to which all scholarship holders and sponsors are invited. In addition to the awarding of certificates and some presentations, there is plenty of room for getting to know each other and for personal conversations.

    • Get-to­geth­ers

      In order to offer our scholarship holders and sponsors another platform for exchange, we have been organising regular get-togethers since 2022. We meet on the last Thursday of the month to exchange ideas and get to know each other better in a relaxed atmosphere.

      In einer entspannten Atmosphere sich über aktuelle Themen auszutauschen - bei unseren Stammtischen gibt es den Raum und Zeit dafür.

    • work­shops and lec­tures

      We and our donors organise additional workshops and lectures. This enables students to acquire valuable additional qualifications and engage in a professional exchange.
